Auto Accident
The park provided many miles of scenic roads to travel. Park rangers oversaw safety on these roads and investigated accidents that happened in the park. This is photo evidence of an automobile accident on Lakeshore Road.

Ground Breaking Ceremony
Boulder City, "The City that Built Hoover Dam," was a great stopping point on the way to or from the park. In a 1953 ceremony, the park broke ground for a new administration building on the corner of Wyoming and Nevada Highway that served as headquarters and also a place for visitors to get information.

Daniel Bonelli was a Colorado River pioneer and was one of the first Morman settlers in the town of St. Thomas where he had a farm. He also started a ferry business at the junction of the Colorado and Virgin rivers.
