National Park Service Barge
A National Park Service barge is being launched at Boulder City boat landing. Businesses quickly saw the potential for recreation on the new lake and offered a variety of tours. Emery's "Red Boats" and "Cashman's Scenic Cruises" were both popular attractions.

Boulder Beach was just a short drive from Las Vegas and made a perfect destination for families interested in a day of water-oriented recreation such as swimming. The park built a number of facilities at the beach to improve the visitor experience.

Swimming Lake Mead Lodge
The Lake Mead Lodge, the first hotel on Lake Mead, became a popular place to stay after WWII for locals, tourists and celebrities. The lodge provided entertainment and facilities such as this swimming pool, along with scenic views of Boulder Basin.

Guy D. Edwards has a 7 3/4-pound largemouth bass on his stringer. Bass were introduced in the park in 1935 and have been a popular sport fish ever since. The population is managed by U.S. Fish and Wildlife who operate the Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery.
