BRECKSVILLE, Ohio—Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) will close the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail between Fitzwater Road and Pleasant Valley/Alexander Road in Valley View on weekdays from 6 am December 16, 2024 through 6 pm January 20, 2025. The trail will be open on weekends from 6 pm Fridays to 6 am Mondays. No detour is available.

The closure is necessary for public safety while the park completes riverbank stabilization. This work is part of a project funded by the Great American Outdoors Act that began in 2022 that is nearing completion.

CVNP encompasses over 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Managed by the National Park Service, CVNP combines cultural, historical, recreational, and natural resources in one setting.
