Entering and exiting the Constitution Gardens, there are some steep ramps, as well as ramps with cracks, making the surface slightly uneven. The surface leading to the Gardens may have gravel and small rocks, however, the area directly surrounding the Gardens is well-maintained and paved. More than a dozen benches with a back are placed throughout the Garden.

As you near the Gardens be aware that there is no railing separating the pathway from the water, it is recommended to stay on the outer edges of the pathway when exploring the Gardens.

As visitors near the Signers of the Declaration exhibit in the middle of the Gardens, they must cross a boardwalk that is well-maintained and wide but has no railing. The boardwalk leads to a small island in the middle of the water where visitors must walk down three stairs to examine tactile signatures of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence.
