The Buffalo Soldiers stationed in Bonita Canyon probably used a saddle like this 1885 McClellan. Buglers in the 10th Cavalry and other musicians received supplemental uniform pieces like this 1885 musician's blouse. Canteens like this one were essential for soldiers crossing dry terrain.
