The stems are thin and has narrow leaves that are larger toward the base of the plant. The stem generally has one flower head but may have more than one on occasion. These flower heads have 6-15 pink to bluish rays which are approximately 1.5" (4 cm) long. HabitatGrows in open areas with sandy, well-drained soils in valleys and foothills. Plant LoreThe genus name, “Lygodesmia”, is from the Greek “lygodes” which means “willow-like” and "desmos" which means “band, chain, or bundle”.
