Preservation projects fund the physical preservation of historic sites, including historic districts, buildings, sites, structures, and objects. Funded work often includes pre-preservation studies, architectural plans and specifications, historic structure reports, and the repair and rehabilitation of historic properties.
Since the 1990s, the National Park Service has awarded over $60 million in grants to over 80 of the remaining active HBCUs. The related People and Places articles listed here show examples of projects that have been funded and successfully completed through this program.
