Park to have Partial Opening on Saturday, January 19, 2025

HODGENVILLE, Ky –Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will operate on a delayed schedule on Saturday, January 19, 2025, and will maintain a partial closure of some areas of the park due to impacts from today’s winter weather.

The Birthplace Unit will open at 11:00 a.m. EST. The visitor center, including the museum, theater, bookstore, and restrooms, along with the Memorial Building, will be open and available to visitors.A partial closure will remain in place for the below areas of the park to ensure the safety of all staff and visitors.

This partial closure includes the following:

  • Birthplac­­e Unit
    • Trails and Boardwalk
    • Picnic Area, including the picnic area gate, parking lot, shelter, restrooms, and trails
  • Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek – Complete closure
    • Main entrance gates, parking lot, grounds, and trails
    • (The Knob Creek Tavern is closed for the season, so this closure does not impact its operation.)
This partial closure will remain in place until the winter weather conditions have passed, and the park’s grounds, roads, and trails have been inspected for safety.
