Wright Brothers National Memorial is the place where Wilbur and Orville Wright spent years working on the mysteries of flight, the place where they first successfully flew, and the place where the nation commemorates and celebrates their historic achievement. Here, you can visit the locations where Wilbur and Orville Wright changed the world.

 

First Flight Boulder & Flight Line
Visit the spot where Orville and Wilbur first took flight and the locations where they landed.

 

Reconstructed 1903 Camp Buildings
Built on the location were Wilbur and Orville lived while experimenting in the Outer Banks, the reconstructed hangar and living quarters offer a glimpse of what camp life was like for the Wrights in 1903.

 

Wright Brothers Monument
Visit the nation's commemorative monument to the Wright brothers' world-changing achievement. Located on top of the historic Kill Devil Hill where Wilbur and Orville did their gliding experiments.

 

December 17, 1903 Sculpture
Step into history by visiting this artistic representation of the moment of first flight. Located on the south side of Kill Devil Hill, this is a please-touch sculpture. If touching or climbing on sculpture, use caution as surfaces may be hot or slick.

 

Wright Brothers Visitor Center

This newly-renovated National Historic Landmark, built in 1960, is the perfect place to stop to receive information about the park and learn about the Wright brothers' story by exploring our new, interactive exhibits.
