WILTON/RIDGEFIELD - With the 2024 season fast approaching, Weir Farm NHP is seeking friendly, reliable people interested in working with the public to provide the best possible experience to park visitors through the Volunteers-In-Parks (VIP) program. Hours are flexible and training and enrichment opportunities are provided, including new volunteer orientation training coming up in April 2024. Ages 13 and up are welcome to volunteer.

The park is currently recruiting for the following positions:

  • Tour Guide - Become a Tour Guide and introduce visitors from around world to the creative workspaces of American masters—the Weir and Young Studios! Guides staff the historic studios and engage in conversations with diverse groups of visitors, Wednesday through Sunday, May through October. Guides also assist with special events, group tours, and school groups. This opportunity is appropriate for volunteers ages 18 and up.

  • Take Part in Art - Great opportunity for teens! Volunteers run the wildly popular outdoor painting program on weekends, May through October. Duties include cleaning and stocking watercolor painting kits and providing basic information to visitors. This opportunity is appropriate for volunteers ages 13–18.

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter - Help make programs more accessible by providing ASL interpretation for park visitors. Interpreters will be on call for accessibility requests and provide ASL interpretation for park videos and other projects.
