Jackson Hole Mountain Resort shares a boundary with Grand Teton National Park and provides access to several moderate-strenuous trails within the park. Teton Village is located at the southern end of the mountain range, 12 miles northwest of the Jackson, WY on Hwy 390. To access park trails, park in the Ranch Lot and walk or take the shuttle bus to the base of Teton Village. Begin hiking from the base or ride up the Bridger Gonola or Aerial Tram (fees apply, discounted when purchased online in advance) to avoid hiking up the initial elevation.
Hikes from Teton Village include access to backcountry campsites. A backcountry permit is required for all overnight stays in the park's backcountry.
Always be prepared when hiking in Grand Teton. Carry water for every member of your group, be alert to your surroundings, and understand your limitations on distance and elevation gain. Trails from Teton Village can hold snow until mid-July. Hikers should use caution when traveling over snow and not attempt trails unless they have previous snow experience and the proper equipment. Wildlife—such as bears—is commonly active in the area. Never approach a wild animal. To check current trail conditions and bear activity, stop at a visitor center to talk with a ranger.
