Indoor Activities

Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is unique because it is almost entirely indoors. The outdoor stoop and the historic facade of the building make a great photo-op, but a vast majority of activities are indoors.

Gallery Space

Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace has a self-guided gallery space on the lowest floor. This gallery contains memorabilia from his campaign, quotes and photos from TR's life, an interactive display about political cartoons, and information about the reconstruction of the building itself. The gallery also has several artifacts from TR's life, including the shirt he was wearing during the assassination attempt, and the folded speech and glasses case that slowed the bullet and helped save his life.

Park Film

The park film is located in the back portion of the gallery space. Films about TR are shown on a rotating basis.

Park Store

The park store is located in the lobby on the lowest floor. It offers a selection of books, gifts, clothing, and NPS Passport products, among other TR-related merchandise. The store is managed by our partner organization, Eastern National.
