Thing to Do
Your Pet Can Become a B.A.R.K. Ranger!

NPS
James A. Garfield National Historic Site is pleased to announce a new program for visitors with dogs! Most National Park Service locations offer a Junior Ranger program designed to encourage visitors with kids to learn and explore in self-guided activities. Recognizing that the family includes more than just people, humans, etc., the NPS has encouraged individual sites to develop the B.A.R.K. Ranger Program. B.A.R.K. is an acronym to help visitors remember how to be a good steward of public lands, and still enjoy the experience with your dogs. Bag your pet’s waste, Always wear a leash, Respect wildlife, and Know where you can go. Visitors with dogs who complete a series of activities can receive a certificate and dog tag to certify them as B.A.R.K. Rangers! Ask a ranger to give you a book upon arrival.
