Thing to Do
Lewis River Channel/Dogshead Trail
This trail gives you a feel for Yellowstone’s backcountry. Hike through forest to the crystal-clear waters of the Lewis River Channel. Look for eagles and osprey fishing for trout in the shallow waters.
Safety notes: Always be aware of your surroundings. Return on the forested Dogshead Trail.
Trailheads: Approximately 5 miles (8 km) south of the Grant Village intersection, just north of Lewis Lake on the west side of the road.
