Thing to Do
Touring the Taft Family House
Explore the home where William Howard Taft was born and raised. View various rooms in the home that have special meaning to certain periods of Taft's life. The home is decorated in period Victorian-era furnishings and motiff, giving visitors the feel of what life was like during the years that Taft lived in the home.
Check current hours information before visiting. Visitors may tour the home on their own or as part of a guided tour. Guided tours are offered as staffing levels permit on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 am, 10 am, 1pm, and 2pm. For parties of 10 or more guests, please email the park's group reservation coordinator.
Tour length is usually around 30 minutes, depending on the ranger program being given at the time. Time spent after the tour in the home is dependent upon visitor's availability to browse the interpretive exhibits and displays.
Guests can visit the park and them head over to the Taft Family Home to enjoy a ranger-guided tour of the home. After the tour, guests will have time to explore the interpretive exhibits in the home and ask rangers any questions about the tour and/or William Howard Taft.
All ages are welcome on the tour, but minors must be with an adult parent or guardian.
No pets are allowed in the home, but service animals are permitted.
Located north of downtown Cincinnati, the park is just minutes from the University of Cincinnati main campus on Auburn Ave.
