Moving Through History

Ulysses S. Grant's connections extend beyond the historic White Haven estate. Join a Park Ranger for a 3-mile run or walk from White Haven to St. Paul’s Cemetery and back. Runners will explore the history of Grantwood Village and the original site of Grant’s “Hardscrabble” cabin. Or, you can join a family-friendly, 4-mile bike tour on Grant’s Trail to the Historic Sappington House and back.You can also create your own journey through history. Loop around the park, adventure down Grant’s Trail, or ride to the historic Father Dickson Cemetery.
These program are hosted on Saturdays from April through October and requrie a reservation. Call 314-842-1867 to book your reservation for these programs.

The Run Through History program takes 90 minutes to complete. Participants will start at Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, run to the St. Paul's Churchyard, and return to Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site.

Accessibility Information
The grounds at Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site include stone walking trails with gentle slopes. Beyond the park's boundaries, participants will run on nearby streets and sidewalks to complete the trip to St. Paul's Churchyard. There are benches on the park grounds, but not beyond the park grounds.
