Thing to Do
Watch the Sunrise/Sunset at Gulf Islands

NPS/Everitt
With its south-facing seashore, Gulf Islands makes a great place to watch both sunrise and sunset. Bring a blanket, a book, a camera, and get ready to sit back and enjoy the show.
Everyone loves a good beach sunset, and visitors can choose their view from the abundance of beach accesses on our map. Looking for a view on the water in Mississippi? The Davis Bayou Fishing Pier and Boat Launch provide great vantage points. Or, paddle out in Florida and Mississippi for a true waterfront experience. For a higher vantage point, visitors may wish to climb to the top of Battery Worth, Battery Langdon, or Fort Pickens in Florida.
