Thing to Do
Friendship Hill Junior Ranger

When visiting Friendship Hill, stop at the Visitor Center desk to get a copy of the Junior Ranger booklet and become a Junior Ranger today! Never heard of the Junior Ranger program? Many NPS sites offer this program as a fun and engaging way to learn about the sites. Each park is responsible for the development of their programs in house.
The Friendship Hill Junior Ranger program includes different levels of activities for children age 6-12. The levels are named to reflect the stages of Albert Gallatin’s career. We also offer a Senior Ranger program for the young at heart crowd.
For younger "Industrialists", activities are recommended for children ages 6 through 8. Children 9 and 10 may strive to become "Congress members"; while 11 and 12 year-olds complete the "Secretary of Treasury" tasks. You are always welcome to complete more activities to be promoted through the ranks, like Gallatin!
Once completed, turn your books into the Ranger at the Visitor Center desk to see if you found the correct answers. Children completing the program will earn a Friendship Hill National Historic Site Junior Ranger badge.
- Watch the two special presentations Reflections of Gallatin shown in the theater.

- Secretary of the Treasury -- Ages 11 to 12: Complete 10 activities.
