“What’s in a Rangers Backpack” is an interactive program to introduce students to the National Park Service and prepare them to visit a park. The program involves discussion of the meaning of parks, introduces students to the NPS symbol and the resources protected by national parks, and discusses the NPS sites here in Arkansas. The program finishes with a discussion of what to bring on a trip to the national park.

This presentation is part of the Every Kid Outdoors program that allows U.S. fourth graders free access to the country’s federal lands.Program Length and Grade Ranges
The program has been developed for 4th graders but has been successful for students grades 1-4. It lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour.Program Logistics
