Are you an elementary school teacher looking for a way to introduce your students to the National Park Service? This free distance learning programs aims to highlight the ideals behind the National Park Service and President Ulysses S. Grant's role in signing legislation to protect Yellowstone as the world's first National Park in 1872. The first half of the program discusses the origins of the NPS and highlights various natural and cultural sites managed by the NPS throughout the United States. The second half introduces students to Ulysses S. Grant and his life as a St. Louis Farmer, Civil War General, and two-term President of the United States.
This program lasts between 30 and 40 minutes.
To register your class for this Distance Learning program, contact the Education Coordinator at 314-842-1867 ext. 229. Schools must have video conferencing software such as Microsoft Teams or Skype (Zoom can be used as long as the school initiaties the call) to participate in this program.
