Petroglyph National Monument offers FIVE traveling trunks for your convenience. These trunks can be adapted for various grade levels.
Ancestral Puebloan Lifestyle Trunk: Provides students a hands-on experience with replica tools and objects used by the Ancestral Puebloans 400-700 years ago.
Spanish Colonial Lifestyle Trunk: Provides students a hands-on experience with replica tools and objects introduced by the early Spanish settlers into New Mexico.
Ancestral Puebloan Pottery Trunk: Provides students a hands-on experience working with clay as they learn about traditional pueblo pottery while creating their own piece of pottery.
Geology Trunk: Provides students a hands-on experience with rocks commonly found in New Mexico.
Desert Mammals Trunk: Provides students a hands-on experience with skull replicas and pelts from common mammals found in New Mexico.

These trunks are not available to borrow.
These trunks are taught in your classroom by park rangers. To request a trunk, please contact us at (505) 899-0205 ext. 332.
Duration of trunk presentation: 45 min-1 hour
Note: Due to high demand, trunks should be requested two weeks in advance.
