Lesson Hook/Preview

The park has made short (less than 5 minute) music videos to introduce students to the park's resources and stories. For younger grades, watch Castillo de San Marcos: Where History Comes Alive and for older grades, watch Bittersweet History

Procedure

Activity 1 (20-30 minutes): As a class read, Who Built the Castillo, and complete the Guided Reading Worksheet. 

Activity 2: (20-30 minutes): As a class, analyze and answer the Document-Based Questions.
