Objective
Students will have the opportunity to develop their observation, description, and deduction skills.
Background
Activity is based on The Private Eye® 5X Looking/Thinking by Analogy - A Guide to Developing the Interdisciplinary Mind, by Kerry Reuf.
Teacher will need art supplies (crayons, pencils, markers, extra paper, etc) and small magnifing glasses for each student.Preparation

Everywhere around you are wonders awaiting discovery, the wonders of the small. With
keen observation and thinking skills and some simple tools, you can begin to see this fantastic
world and discover that when you are looking at the small, you are really thinking...BIG!

Do you have to BE big to THINK big?
Procedure
1. Print out the Looking Small, Thinking BIG booklet pages and distribute appropriate background and activity pages to each student.
2. Distribute art supplies and magnifying glasses to each student.
3. Go through the activities with the students as time permits, selecting locations inside or outside the classroom with interesting areas to magnify and describe.
