This is a three-part program/lesson that includes a pre-visit introductory film to watch in class, primary source documents to examine in class, and a virtual session/presentation with a Park Ranger from Gettysburg! Perfect for document and inquiry-based learning goals and assessments.

Program Overview 

This distance learning program focuses on the impact of the Battle of Gettysburg upon the local civilian population, with a particular focus upon the town's African American residents and the difficult decisions they faced during the Confederate invasion of Pennsylvania in the summer of 1863.
