Overview:
All distance learning programs will cover what is a national park and how national parks work to protect natural and cultural resources for us and future generations to come. Each program is designed to be engaging for participants and can be adapted for different age ranges.In this lesson, haumana (students) will learn what biodiversity is, why it is important to the environment, and how Haleakalā National Park protects biodiversity. They will learn what a horticulturist is, virtually meet a park horticulturist, and virtually tour the greenhouse at Haleakalā.
