Captain Thomas Robbins was mate or master on the Rover, Waverly, Santa Barbara, Pacifico, and the California as they traded on the California coast during the first half of the 1800s (nineteenth century). Robbins told William Dane Phelps that he visited San Nicolas Island and took two women from the island to San Pedro. Robbins also told Phelps that one Nicoleña female was left behind on the island.
