Meet Katie Nuessly, an Ecologist with the Science Directorate for the NPS. Her favorite part about working for the park service is applying the science she creates to real conservation challenges, and being part of conservation solutions! When she is not working you can find her doing yoga, dancing, hiking, reading, gardening, and dreaming up new adventures.

Who would you invite on a dream camping trip?
All my girlfriends. I would cherish the ability to laugh with them and learn from them- all together!
Frontcountry or backcountry?
Both!
Advice to a novice camper?
Bring a trashbag (an easy thing to forget-pack it in pack it out!), biodegradable soap (clean dishes are much nicer to eat off of), and a flashlight (I always seem to forget this)!
