Salinas Pueblo Missions is very excited for the launch of its B.A.R.K. Ranger Program on Saturday, March 22nd, at 9:30AM!
Join us tomorrow, Saturday, March 22nd, for the BARK in the Park event at the Quarai Site to learn the B.A.R.K. Ranger principles to ensure a great experience for you and your pet when visiting Salinas Pueblo Missions and other National Park sites. In the partnership with the Friends of Mountainair Animal Shelter, we will share information about the B.A.R.K. Ranger Program, tips on how you and your pet can be prepared for a hike, and how to make every park visit enjoyable.
Park rangers will lead 2 guided hikes throughout the day for you and your pets to learn about Salinas Pueblo Missions. The morning hike will start at 10:00am, and the afternoon hike will start at 1:00pm. We encourage you to wear cool clothing and comfortable shoes and to bring sunscreen, food, and plenty of water. For you and your pets!
What does B.A.R.K. mean?
• Bag your pet’s waste.
• Always keep them on a leash.
• Respect wildlife.
• Know where you can go.
During the BARK in the Park event, your pet can become a B.A.R.K. Ranger and earn their Salinas Pueblo Missions’ B.A.R.K. Ranger Tag. The program is available all year long. Visit one of our 4 visitor centers during open hours to grab the B.A.R.K. Ranger rack card. Once you learn the 4 principles and take the B.A.R.K. Ranger Pledge, your pet can earn their tag.
We look forward to seeing you at the event!
