Do you have an interest in working, learning, and growing outside this summer? Point Reyes National Seashore wants to hire you for the summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Program!
Over eight weeks, participants will learn technical and core skills such as tree removal, maintaining trails and trail structures, engaging in a variety of on-the-job trainings and classes, building relationships with peers and park service staff, stewardship and land management ethics, federal resume writing, and more. Work locations will vary within the park, ensuring participants experience the many biotic zones and cultural points of interest that Point Reyes National Seashore has to offer. Applicants must be able to work with hand tools, hike up to 10 miles a day, and generally be physically fit. Work will be performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to the elements, including poison oak.
Our summer 2024 program begins June 17 and will end August 9. Work schedule is 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday at $18.00 per hour. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Bear Valley Visitor Center area.
Participants must be at least 15 years of age by the start of the YCC season (June 17, 2024) but cannot turn 19 before the program ends (August 9, 2024). They must also be permanent residents of the United States and have a Social Security Card and work permit.
