Catch the Turkey Creek Trail at 2 trailheads on Gore Store Road. The southbound option begins on the east side of Turkey Creek.

Overview
Heading south from Gore Store Road, it is 4 miles to the Sandhill Loop Trail, 5 miles to the southern terminus of the Turkey Creek Trail at its junction with the Kirby Nature Trail, and 5.8 miles to the next road access at the Kirby trailhead on FM 420.
For a 9.4-mile roundtrip hike, head south on the Turkey Creek Trail for 4 miles to reach the Sandhill Loop Trail where you'll find a sunny, open forest of longleaf pines and oaks. After completing the 1.4-mile loop, return the way you came.

Accessibility
Trail surfaces include hard packed soil and leaves and wooden boardwalks. The trail is generally flat with some minor ups and downs. Hazards include exposed tree roots and muddy sections if it has rained recently.
