Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits, Information

In our world of rapid change and plenty, we sometimes want to get away from it all. We go camping to be with nature. We want to be with nature because we know it's less complicated than our daily jobs. Coming from our perspective, it's easy to think of "the simple life" lived by homesteaders and feel like they must have been really lucky!

Perhaps some were lucky, but while we're thinking about the person so disconnected they can't be reached by phone and so far out that they can't see their nearest neighbor, imagine what that means if there's an emergency. The person who's so remote that they don't have a nearby city may have to cut logs from trees or build bricks from the earth itself to build a shelter.
