Carbon River Trail

Bicycle - Rack, Picnic Table, Restroom

Season: Year-round
Carbon River Trail is accessible year-round, but be prepared to navigate around road and trail washouts.

The Old Mine Trail is 2.9 miles round-trip and begins at the Carbon River Entrance. This trail takes hikers through the temperate rainforest of the Carbon River area, and leads you to remnants of the past.

The Old Mine Trailhead is along the Carbon River Trail on the left, 1.2 miles after the entrance. Upon reaching the Old Mine Trailhead, continue up a short, but steep, spur trail. At the end, you will find the gated entrance of an old mine. Take some time to explore and experience this bit of Carbon River mining history.

Hiking
The Carbon River Trail (former road) has numerous hiking trails along the way. About 2 miles beyond the Old Mine Trail are trailheads for the Green Lake Trail and Chenuis Falls Trail. Hikers can continue all the way to the end of the road to reach Ipsut Creek and the Wonderland Trail.
