Eagle Cove County Park is located just to the north of our American Camp Unit. Its beach, reachable by a short trail located next to the bulletin board by the park entrance, is an excellent place for relaxing and observing wildlife like its namesake eagles. During the summertime, killer whales often pass by Eagle Cove, making it an excellent place for on-shore whalewatching. Visitors of all ages can relax on its sunny and sandy beaches, make sandcastles, watch the sun set, and gaze across the Strait of Juan De Fuca to the Olympic Peninsula.

Getting There

From the town of Friday Harbor, follow Spring Street up to Mullis Street and take a left. Outside of the town of Friday Harbor, as you pass the airport, Mullis Street becomes Cattle Point Road. Follow Cattle Point Road until just before American Camp Visitor Center, turn right on Eagle Cove Road and follow that around to the parking area on the left. At the end of the parking lot is a bench for observing the water from a bluff. Near the parking lot entrance is the short trail down to the beach.
