Wind, sand, and a dream of flight brought Wilbur and Orville Wright to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Here, after four years of experimentation, they achieved the first successful controlled airplane flights on December 17, 1903. With courage and perseverance, relying on teamwork and the scientific process, what they achieved changed our world forever.

This kiosk provides 8 points of interest at the National Memorial and stands near the pilot's facility and picnic tables. This is a great place to take a rest and have a snack. There is a nearby airstrip where often small planes are parked.
