Road Descriptions and Difficulty Ratings

Jeep at monument entrance sign
Parashant is a wonderland for those with the right equipment.

NPS - J. Axel

This page provides links to pages where roads in specific areas of the monument are described. If you are looking for a driving guide to places to go and what to see in the Parashant, click Scenic Drives and Viewpoints.

Rangers recommend you read the critical 4x4 vehicle and travel information section so you know if you have the right vehicle for the monument. The greatest hazard if your vehicle breaks down is that many roads are infrequently used and there is no cell phone service in the monument. Don't count on someone coming by to help you. Have someone back home who knows where you are going and are ready to call in case you don't return.
