Ready to spring into springtime? Get outside at Egg-stravaganza!
Join the National Park Service to celebrate Egg-merica the Beautiful and Freedom 250. The Egg-stravaganza will offer a variety of activities for you and your family to enjoy! Guests can participate in scavenger hunt or a craft to take home, all while enjoying the spring weather!
This event is free of charge and does not require registration.

All-Day Activities
Egg Scavenger Hunt
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This isn't your traditional egg hunt! Instead of looking for eggs willy-nilly, participants will follow a series of clues to find and participate in a proper scavenger hunt to find the eggs.
Egg Painting
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Bring out your inner artist at the craft table and decorate your own egg!
Field Games
10:00 a.m. - 3:00p.m.
Put your skills to the test with classic farmyard games like sack races and the egg toss.
Egg-lection
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Vote for the chicken you think deserves the title of Oxon Hill Farm’s Egg‑bassador.
Don’t forget to stop in the visitor center to meet our new baby chicks!
Performances
10:30 A.M. - 11:15 A.M. Val and Silly Goose
Silly Goose and Val present a fast-paced, humorous 40-minute musical treat with puppets, storytelling, ventriloquism, dancing, singing, and 100% audience participation. A recipient of multiple Maryland State Arts Council Grants for theatre performance and non-classical composition; Val and her friends will delight the child with and within you!
12:00 P.M. - 12:45 P.M. Uncle Devin Band
The Uncle Devin Show® is an interactive, musical experience for children by renowned drummer and percussionist, Devin Walker. The show cultivates the minds of children through percussion instruments and is a dynamic cross between DC’s Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock!
Public Transportation
The following bus-lines will pick up and drop off at the Oxon Hill Park and Ride: WMATA C11, P94, P97, P95, P87, P90
Bicycle racks are provided in the parking lot at Oxon Hill Farm. There is a Capital Bikeshare station at the Oxon Hill Park and Ride. Check out the Hiker-Biker trail within the park which connects to the Forest Heights, Southeast DC, and National Harbor neighborhoods.
Parking is limited at Oxon Hill Farm. Please consider parking at the Oxon Hill Park and Ride and taking our free shuttle or walking over. The shuttle will run continuously from the Park and Ride to the Oxon Hill Farm parking lot. The walk is about half a mile. If the on-site lot is full when you arrive, you will be directed to the Park and Ride.

Mobility/Physical
The parking area has 4 designated handicapped parking spots. More will be reserved for this event.
The walking paths are mostly gravel which can be difficult to navigate with wheelchairs or other mobility aids. There will be two golf carts present to shuttle visitors with mobility concerns. Request this assistance from any staff or volunteer at the event.
Mount Welby, the historic farm house, has 5 steps leading up to the entrance.
Deaf/Hearing Loss
American Sign Language interpreters will be present at the festival. ASL interpretation will be provided for all performances, and interpreters are available upon request at the welcome tent to accompany visitors throughout the event. Request this assistance from any staff at the event.
Blind/Low Vision
Braille brochures are available in the Visitor Center. Mobility assistance golf carts are available upon request. Request this assistance from any staff or volunteer at the event.
Cognitive/Learning Disabilities
There will be many activities with hands-on learning opportunities. The performances on the stage will be amplified and may have sudden loud noises. If you need a quiet place to escape from the hustle and bustle, head to the Visitor Center or the historic farmhouse.
