The newly renovated Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center will re-open to the public on Wednesday, July 1. Visitor services will be curtailed on Monday and Tuesday to allow staff to move equipment and materials back into the visitor center. On Monday and Tuesday, park staff will be available in the visitor center parking area and nearby nature trails to answer questions and provide information, while the visitor center itself remains closed. Ranger-led programs will not be offered on Monday and Tuesday, but will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, July 1. The Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center, built in 1963 has been undergoing an extensive renovation since last September. The project included renovation and expansion of the existing visitor center and restrooms, modifications to the building for wheelchair accessibility and a new roof. Additional work in the area includes improvements to the parking area and access pathways to the visitor center. "We are excited to welcome people back to the new and improved Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center," said Olympic National Park Superintendent Sarah Creachbaum. "I'm very proud of our staff for their work and extra effort during the remodel process." Beginning Wednesday, July 1, the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the summer. The Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center is located approximately 31 miles south of Forks off Highway 101. The center provides visitors with information about visiting the Olympic Peninsula's "west side," including Olympic National Park coastal and rainforest areas.
