There are plenty of indoor activites to explore inside our park visitor center! You can learn about the prehistoric peoples who lived here in the Macon Plateau thousands of years ago in the visitor center rotunda. Our museum has 2,000 artifacts on display dating from 10,000 B.C.E-1800's CE. There is also a 17-minute orientation film on the history of the park available for viewing upon request. Another place to check out in our visitor center is the park store operated by the Ocmulgee Mounds Association, an official non-profit partner of the National Park Service dedicated to supporting the educational mission of Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. The park store has a wide range of books, magnets, postcards, and other items available for retail sale. These products complement the interpretive themes you experience when visiting the park. You can also visit the online park store. |
