Ranger-led programs and naturalist tours are regularly scheduled during the summer and by special request other times of the year. For more information, talk with a ranger at any of the visitor and information centers, campgrounds, during the summer or visit Ranger Programs.
The North Cascades Institute offers a variety of educational programs for people of all ages to explore the natural and cultural history of the ecosystem, including classes on geology, corvids and Cascadian carnivores, family getaways, Skagit Tours, Base Camp and their Sourdough Speaker Series. Many of their programs are hosted at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center on Diablo Lake, a Silver LEED-certified campus operated in partnership with the Institute, North Cascades National Park and Seattle City Light. Self guided tours of the Learning Center campus are available by checking in at the main office.
Many private companies offer activities and tours by permit in the North Cascades--including rafting, climbing, hiking and backpacking, and horse or llama packing trips. A list of current concession operators can be found here.
