Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) promotes the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. AMC has twelve volunteer-managed chapters throughout its working region. With the support of this volunteer network, AMC manages and maintains over 1,800 miles of trail, including the Massachusetts portion of the NET.

CFPA logo

Founded in 1895, the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) is dedicated to connecting all people to the land in order to protect Connecticut's forests, parks, Blue-Blaze Hiking Trails, and open spaces for future generations. CFPA supports programs in environmental education, advocacy, land conservation and, with the help of dedicated volunteers, maintains over 800 miles of hiking trails in Connecticut, including the Connecticut portion of the NET.
