Changes to Entrance Fees and Passes in 2026

Learn about a few upcoming changes to entrance fees and passes for non-US residents and motorcycles that begin on January 1, 2026.

No entrance pass required

An entrance pass is not required to access Navajo National Monument.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

2026 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

Beginning in 2026, free entrance on these days will be for US citizens and residents only. Nonresidents will pay the regular entrance fee and any applicable nonresident fees.

There are no fees at Navajo National Monument for:

  • Entrance to access the park.
  • Camping at the campground.
  • Ranger-led tours for the summer season.
  • Backcountry permits for hikes.

Fees may apply; however, for Special Use Permits (SUP). SUPs are required for special events such as weddings, large group gatherings, non-amateur filming, photography for publication, and any after-hours use. The process for requesting a permit may take 2-4 weeks. Filming in the park may also require a permit from the Navajo Nation. Please email the Special Use Permit Coordinator for more information.

A half-mile walk bring you to view Betatakin/Talastima across the canyon.
