Weanling Season at Drakes Beach

Description

It's the time of year when adult male and female elephant seals have returned to the ocean, and Point Reyes is left with droves of weaned pups on it's beaches. After mom has departed these "little" seals hang out for a few more weeks, learning how to swim, resting and preparing for the long journeys ahead! Footage collected under NMFS Permit No. 21425.
