24 hours can make a big difference!

Conditions in Zion can change quickly. When snow falls in the canyon, areas with lower elevation and more sun exposure melt quicker than others. But as teen wizard Alex Russo once said, everything is not as it seems.

Hikes that are more shaded and reach higher elevation will oftentimes have ice further on the trail. So even if at the start of your hike conditions look dry, you could be left stuck slipping and sliding on ice later on.

Remember to bring traction devices.
