Burial Site of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter

Georgia State Senator, Governor of Georgia, President of the United States, Co-Founder of the Carter Center. The second reads: Rosalynn Smith Carter (August 18, 1927 – November 19, 2023). First Lady of Georgia, First Lady of the United States, Founder of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers, Co-Founder of the Carter Center.

Description

The Carters' graves are surrounded by a memorial garden designed by Rosalynn Carter, overlooking the pond they built and enjoyed together. Their headstones reflect their lifelong humility, inspired by those of President Richard Nixon and First Lady Patricia Nixon.
