Description

The view of Mount Rainier from Sunrise, featuring the Emmons Glacier blanketing most of the mountain from this angle, then reaching down into Glacier Basin. The glacier actually continues to about where you can see blue-green lakes at the bottom of the picture; most of the lower half of the glacier is covered by a blanket of rocky debris. On the far left side of the mountain stands Little Tahoma peak, and on the right is triangular Steamboat Prow. Camp Schurman is located at the apex of this triangle of rock.
