San Mateo Parklands - Milagra Ridge
Milagra Ridge in Pacifica was once part of the Rancho San Pedro Spanish land grant. In 1942 the U.S. Army built Battery #244 and, from 1956 to 1974, operated the Cold War Nike Missile Site SF-51 launch area. Milagra Ridge is a delicate “island ecosystem” surrounded on all sides by development and unconnected with other open space.
