Building Use for Meetings & Workshops

Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park has a variety of facilities that can be reserved for meetings, workshops, and other events. Special use permits are issued for use of these facilities. Room reservations are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email the permit office at MABI_SAGA_Permits@nps.gov to inquire about a reservation or to send an application.

Forest Center

The Forest Center is a classroom and meeting space at the park. It is the first building in the national park system constructed entirely with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood. A partnership project of the National Park Service and The Woodstock Foundation, the Center has been awarded Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

  • Maximum occupancy: 50 people (auditorium style chairs)
  • Comfortable occupancy: 25 people
  • Available Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-4:30PM.
  • Smoking and alcohol are prohibited on site.
  • Two accessible bathrooms are located on site.
  • A refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, microwave, coffee, tea kettle, and limited silverware, plates, glasses, and mugs are available for use.
  • Parking is off site at Billings Farm & Museum parking lots. Accessible parking is available on site.
  • Catering and meeting supplies may be delivered to the facility by vehicle before an after the event.
  • There is a large, flat-screen TV with an HDMI cable for laptop connectivity.
  • Cellular WiFi is not available; a hot spot device may be borrowed and must be arranged in advance.
  • Publicity or advertising must be reviewed by the park in advance.
  • Cost: $65/day. Fee may be waived at the discretion of the superintendent.

Directions to the Forest Center

Parking for Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is located at the Billings Farm & Museum, just off Route 12, 1/2 mile north of Woodstock. Click here for Google directions. From Woodstock, cross the iron bridge, take a right onto Old River Road, and the Billings Farm Visitor Center lot is immediately on the right.

Free parking is available in two lots: the main lot adjacent to the Billings Farm Visitor Center, and an overflow lot immediately on your left after turning onto Old River Road. Please ask your group to use the overflow lot for large group meetings.

To enter Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, take the paved path to the right of the Billings Farm & Museum Visitor Center, walk up and cross the street, and then take the right fork and walk 1/8 mile to reach the Forest Center.

Accessibility

Please let us know if your group requires accessible parking. Parking near the Forest Center is limited, as we need the circle drive cleared for utility trucks. More information on accessibility.

 

Additional Rooms & Facilities

The Carriage Barn Visitor Center offers several spaces that can be reserved for small groups, subject to availability. These include the conference room, program room, library, and exhibit area. Additionally, the Horse Shed, may also be reserved for small groups. For more information about these facilities, please contact the permit office.
