On January 2, 2024 the Texas White House Complex closed so the construction phase of the Texas White House rehabilitation can begin. The LBJ Ranch driving tour remains open. Visitors can still see the school, cemetery, birthplace and showbarn. More
Johnson City is named after LBJ's father's cousin James Polk Johnson.
There is no lodging or camping in the park. Three hotels, several bed and breakfast facilities, one campground, and two RV facilities are available in Johnson City. Many hotels, bed and breakfast facilities, and RV camping opportunities are in Fredericksburg, 32 miles west of Johnson City and 18 miles west of the LBJ Ranch.
