A very common bird in urban settings, European Starlings are often seen at the park.
Wildlife at Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site is not always obvious to the casual observer, but it does exist. Several species of mammal, over twenty five bird species, and many insects have been documented at the site. Some animals, like gray squirrels, are residents of the park while many others are visitors.
