Our visitor center is located at 426 South 7th Street, Springfield, IL 62701. Please refer to this address when seeking an address to input into GPS or online directions.

Our site is restricted to pedestrian access only. Visitors must park in our parking lot (just south of the visitor center) or around our site and can then walk to the Lincoln Home located at the center of our 4 block site. Oversized vehicles (such as a RV or bus) may park in the Lincoln Home Bus/ RV Lot just north of the Visitor Center.

Driving Directions to Lincoln Home National Historic Site

Coming from the North on Interstate 55 (I-55)

1. Visitors traveling south on I-55 should use exit 98B at Clear Lake Avenue.

2. Continue west on Clear Lake Avenue towards downtown. Clear Lake will merge into Jefferson street. Continue west on Jefferson until you reach 9th Street.

3. Turn left on 7th Street. 7th Street is a one- way street..

4. The Visitor Center is located five blocks south on the left side of 7th Stree (half block south of Capitol Avenue). The visitor parking lot is past the Visitor Center on the left.

Coming from the South on Interstate 55 (I-55)

1. Visitors traveling north on I-55 should use exit 92A at 6th Street (I-55 Business Loop North).

2. Continue about four miles north to downtown. Turn right on Capitol Avenue.

3. Turn right again on 7th Street. 7th Street is a one-way street.

4. The Visitor Center is located about half a block suth of Capitol Avenue. The visitor parking lot is past the Visitor Center on the left.

Coming from the East on Interstate 72 (I-72)

1. Visitors traveling west on I-72 (US-36) should remain on I-72 where it will merge into Clear Lake Avenue (IL-97).

2. Continue west on Clear Lake Ave toward downtown. Clear Lake will merge into Jefferson Street. Continue west on Jefferson Street and until you reach 7th Street.

3. Turn left on 7th Street. 7th street is a one way street.

4. The Visitor Center is located five blocks south of the left side of of 7th street (half a block south of Capitol Avenue). The visitor parking lost is past the Visitor Center on the left.

Coming from the West on Interstate 72 (I-72)

1. Visitors traveling east on I-72 (US-36) should use exit 97B at 6th Street (I-55 Business Loop North).

2. Continue about four miles north to downtown. Turn right on Capitol Avenue.

3. Turn right on 7th Street. 7th Street is a one-way street.
